Meet LHD

Leslie Hart-Davidson, Principal Designer, graduated with a B.A. in interior design from Bowling Green State University and founded her business in 2001. LHD’s design roots run deep— her grandfather was an artist and furniture upcycler, her grandmother a gifted seamstress, and her parents were early real estate flippers. Design is in her blood.

Refresh Plans

Leave it to us

The Refresh Plan includes a consultation and site measurements, followed by the selection of finishes, fixtures, and furnishings as needed. LHD presents an overall design with samples, then oversees the implementation of the plan.

Remodel Plans

We’ll work on it together

The Remodel Plan is a full-service design package that includes detailed CAD drawings and renderings, along with the selection of all finishes, fixtures, and furnishings for the entire project. LHD will present a design packet with two rounds of revisions and manage project coordination with all relevant parties during construction.

New Build Plans

Tailored to your dreams

New Build Plans involve reviewing the builder’s floorplan to ensure it meets aesthetic and functional needs. LHD handles all the finish selections required by the build and audits existing furnishings for potential reuse in the new space and provides assistance with post-move-in décor choices, eliminating decision fatigue and ensuring consistency across the design.

AUTHOR

Leslie’s three published books include a variety of snarky and informative content helping to inspire clients and homeowners to learn new ideas through a creative approach. Remodeling Your House without Killing Your Spouse and It’s Not Your Room, It’s You encourage readers to learn design fundamentals and take action with their space, while her third book Food is Love incorporates kitchen design with recipes that help readers to be better humans through cooking.

EDUTAINER

LHD is also a dynamic content creator– producing hundreds of live television segments across four regional TV stations, as well as presenting seminars to crowds of home show audiences, industry professionals, and corporations all across the US. In 2024, she founded Warmup Chicken Productions, a creative content studio focused on developing work that serves her philosophy of Give.

MENTOR

Beyond her work as a designer, Leslie is deeply committed to mentorship. In 2007, she launched an internship program with Michigan State University, providing students with real-world experience in both design and business. LHD wields her superpower of “pull” to extract the talents of interns from their core, cultivating their skills of design and leadership. To date, nearly 100 students from multiple universities have participated, many now thriving in design careers across the US.
